First AFLFA awards to recognise dedicated fans

Who is the most dedicated AFL fan? Which team has the best supporter group? Where is the most fan-friendly AFL venue? Which commentator do fans enjoy listening to most?

The inaugural AFL Fans Association awards will recognise a range of people who helped make the 2015 season enjoyable for fans, as well as the fans themselves. While most footy awards are given to players and coaches, the AFLFA will also recognise the supporters who give our game character.

All fans are invited to vote on the below categories by visiting www.facebook.com.au/aflfans.

"We want to acknowledge our most dedicated fans and supporter groups," says AFL Fans Association president Gerry Eeman. "Every year they show unparalleled loyalty to their clubs and add colour to the game. It’s time they got the recognition they deserve.

"We also want to create a unique set of awards voted exclusively by fans. Dedicated supporters study the game as much as anyone else in the football industry, so are well placed to offer their views."

  • Supporter group of the year.
