Port Adelaide Football Club fans hit out at club over corporate season launch as Crows invite fans to public eventA 30-year Port member has slammed the club’s season launch, saying the corporate-only event is a far cry from the Crows’ public offering. Vote in the poll.Port Adelaide fans have voiced their disappointment as the club continues its tradition of an invite-only season launch – closed to members and supporters – despite the Crows kicking off their 2026 with a free members event. The Power will launch its season on Monday night at Adelaide Oval with a corporate red carpet event that includes the Hall of Fame. The function stands in contrast to Adelaide Crows’ launch at The Drive last Friday, where members, fans and their children could enjoy the family event.Long-time Port Adelaide member Ian Wilson, 66, said the move was “the biggest disconnect from the fans to the club” in his 30 years as a member.“I just don’t understand it, it’s very strange,” he said. “They’re becoming more and more corporate like the Crows.”Port Adelaide hosts a separate family day each year as part of its season launch with this year’s at Alberton Oval on Friday. What do the fans think if it hapoe ed at your club? Should dans or members be at least invited to attend at tgeir own cost or should these events be limited to invite only?Full story in comments (paywall - extracts above). ... See MoreSee Less
