AFLFA Condemns Racist Trolls

The AFL Fans Association has condemned racist trolls.

Several AFL players, including Carlton’s Eddie Betts and Melbourne’s Harley Bennell, have been subject to racist online trolling in recent weeks.

AFL Fans Association president Gerry Eeman says while most fans are respectful in their online comments, those resorting to racism and other personal abuse must be condemned.

“These racist comments are disgusting and completely unacceptable, and most fans are horrified by the behaviour these trolls,” Gerry says.

“No player should be subject to this. There is no excuse for it, there is nothing funny about being racist.

“We would urge all fans to call out these racist idiots. If you see someone who posts this type of stuff, call it out. Enough is enough.”
